Mspark, a leading print and digital media distribution company delivering results by connecting businesses to consumers in rural America seeks an experienced Operations IT Business Partner/Network Engineer to join our IT Team located at our Helena, AL Corporate office.

As an Operations IT Business Partner/Network Engineer, reporting directly to the Director of IT Operations and Information Security, you will be responsible for closely aligning with the operations business unit to ensure that the technologies in place provide a consistent high level of service at all production facilities to support achieving all operations business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities as a systems / network engineer supporting the organizations IP network and server infrastructure.
  • Hands on planning, implementation and support for the network including routers, switches, and phone system.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the Operations business unit for all things IT related.
  • Work as part of the IT Operations Department with regular interaction with Developers, other IT Engineers and the IT Help Desk as needed for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Initiates and fosters partnerships with key stake holders to better understand the primary objectives of the business unit to pro-actively improve upon or develop new solutions through technology.
  • Support the production facilities Kirk-Rudy manufacturing equipment including PC and PLC functionality.
  • Plan and implement best practices for logical and physical security.
  • Routinely review firewall and server log data to improve the security posture of the organization.
  • Ensure SLA’s are met for resolving end user issue reports.
  • Act as a liaison between the Operations area and outside vendors providing technology services.
  • Occasional after-hours support and travel is required for preventative maintenance and break/fix activities.


Experience and Skills:

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related-technical degree
  • 5+ years’ experience as a network engineer implementing and supporting IP network infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak on varying technical levels and clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Self-starter who can work independently on complex IT network infrastructure efforts
  • Experience supporting Telephone Systems including PRI, SIP and PBX technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Office 365, IP Networks including Switches and Routers.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks
